Sand worms- Pacific and Atlantic

Description

They're called sand worms because they hide under the sand in warm coastal shores to feed on small prey and receive oxygen easier, on land they either inch like a normal worm or slither, on water they're fast swimmers, they can go 40 miles an hour without needing a head start, they're common on both salt and fresh water. They can stay on land for 40 hours until they find water nearby, they can use their claws as well for walking underwater, or crawl on rocks and clamp onto prey, the Pacific sand worm (red one) doesn't bite much if its being shy around large creatures and tends to hide before the coast is clear, it has sensitive pin holes underneath its chin to detect the temperature of prey or it rubs the tip on its mouth to feel movement and quickly tries to grabs it with its claws then attempts to dry it out by bringing it to the surface and eats it including the bone, if it has a smaller prey in its mouth it can swallow while walking using its flexible jaws and microscopic teeth, its quite small compared to the Atlantic sand worm (blue one). The Atlantic worm has a thick clam like shell head that is used to fool mollusks and other prey and this creature has the strongest bite will clamp at anything that moves, it also eats algae and zoo plankton using its hair like tongue to capture them, on the top of its head is a breathing hole and there's a 12 inch long proboscis like tube to get oxygen if its swimming too far away from the surface while chasing after prey, the Pacific worm gets oxygen by sitting on a rock or hitching a ride on boats and using its seven breathing tubes underneath the side of its head that stretches out, making it look like it has frills. Both breed in the same area in a small island where the waters are warmer so their mate can lay 400 eggs in the surface and bury the eggs in water and sand so that they can hatch faster, they babies will pop out of the sand and tumble into the water and swim freely to fend for themselves, their heads will harden after juvenile stage and will build up speed and accuracy on hunting.
